Happily Ever After

Hello my friends!  Just a short post today to share a card I made.  My friend Bonnie is heading west today to attend her nephews wedding.  She asked me to make a card for her.  I made it at our art club and I didn't really have a nice surface to showcase the card as the tables are all covered in (you guessed it!) paint.  I don't even mind that as a background for some projects, but it definately didn't suit this card.  So I put down a sheet of paper, which being so light, didn't highlight the card as well as I would have liked, but that is what I had available.  So, apologies over, I hope you can see the card well enough.  I was quite happy how it turned out.
I used Recollections shimmer card, a Local King Rubber Stamps background, which I heat embossed in gold.  I used my Tim Holtz scribbly die to cut the hearts (I just love that die!) out of gold card.  I heat embossed the sentiment on velum.  I llayered onto gold card and then on to a card base I made with the same shimmer stock as the front panel.  I didn't take a picture of the inside, but I added a velum pocket to hold a gift certificate or money.
Hope you enjoyed my card today, and thank you for stopping by!

Tag 5-7 "Trust the Magic" MMM 19 #onelittletag

Tag 5-7 "Trust the Magic"
Welcome to my blog!
A tag for the mothball challenge, which was the first week of May on the One Little Tag Craft Challenge. This tag is also doing double duty for both FB groups I am participating in.  Last weeks Mixed Media Morsel prompt was Silhouettes.
I didn't use a magazine picture for this, as Cat Hand did on MMM, I used stamps and dies.. I used distress ink for the background and splattered it with water containing perfect pearls.  Distress inks are water reactive and I love the effects that you can get.  I used a Penny Black stamp for the flowers (pretty weeds?) silhouettes and a Prima stamp for my sentiment. I used 2 different Spellbinder dies for the Fairy and the Dandelion. As for the mothball challenge, I haven't used my  fairy die, black glitter paper and perfect pearlsfor a while
Thanks for stopping by and having a look!  Have an awesome and artful day!

"Artist" Gelli print collage Tag 5-8 MMM#2 #onelittletag

Welcome to my blog!
I created this tag using some of the Gelli Deli prints I did the other day.  I collaged the background using various prints

I had some fun with mark making using distress paint, archival ink, a Heidi Swapp stamp and my white Posca pen.  I used a Tim Holtz stamp to Stamp "Artist" on another piece of Gelli print that I collage on and the outlined.
I hope you enjoyed my tag!  I have been busy tonight, so I will be posting a few more tags shortly.
Thanks for stopping by!

Tag 3-26 Merry Christmas! #onelittletag

Tag 3-26,
Very similar to tag 3-25, with a different non-traditional colour scheme.  The pink and gold colour combo was insprired by a tag done by Yvette, one of the ladies doing the One Little Tag Craft Challenge on FB

Tags# 3-25 Some more Christmas tags #onelittletag

I am still playing catch up since my holiday, so I am a little behind with my tags.  Some of you that have visited my blog before, may already know this, but one of my own personal challenges is to make the 25th tag of each month, a Christmas tag.  The idea is that I will be ahead of the game when Christmas rolls around coupled with the fact that I just enjoy Christmas cards and tags.  Doing one usually puts me in the mood to do more.  So I hope you can handle a few Christmas cards, even though we are all ready for some nice spring weather and maybe not really wanting to be reminded of  wintery December, lol! (Unless, perhaps if you are in Australia or the other parts of the world that have lovely warm Decembers!)
The challenge last week was to do monochromatic tags, so I tried to stay in keeping with that idea.  Not 100% monochromatic, but definitely leaning that way.

Tag 2-15 Snowflakes are like Friends #onelittletag

Tag 2-15
Snowflakes are like Friends
Hello and thanks for dropping  in.  For this tag I inked the background with distress ink and splattered with water and with Picket Fence distress stain. I have been wanting to use the Penny Black die that I recently got, I love it. I cut out the trees from some pretty white glitter paper but the photo doesn't do it justice. My sentiment is also Penny Black and a little bit crooked (I think crooked sentiments are almost like a signiture for me, lol) Despite my wonky sentiment, I like the overall feel of this tag and I do like my new die  just could not seem to get a decent photo today, for some reason.
Well, thanks once more, and hope you will pop by again!

Tag 2-14 I Love You #onelittletag

Tag 2-14 I Love You
Caught up! This time I used printed paper for the background and an old QuiKutz die for the heart and arrow. Again I die cut an aperture with my die. I sponged some yellow ink on some white card to back up the heart aperture. I used the Tim Holtz Valentines stencil for the words in Picked Raspberry ink. I used some distress ink to do some sponging on the background, I used my PITT pen to do some detailing. The heart is my negative space, tic tac toe = purple, pink & yellow
Happy Valentine's!

Tag 2-13 Let the Wind Carry You #onelittletag

Tag 2-13 Let the Wind Carry You
I used one of my disress inked prepared backgrounds. Memory Box bird die, a scrap of paper which I sponged with picked Raspberry distress ink for behind the die cut apeture of the bird. The stamp is from my new Prima Birds stamp set I just got.. My cut out bird is my negative space, I got two lines on Tic Tac Toe - purple, pink & yellow and bird, pink & bling

Tag 2-12 Daance to your own Music #onelittletag

Tags 2-12
I got home late tonight so I didn't have time to make a new tag or to even think of a new idea. I'm going to be pretty busy for the next couple of days, but I still wanted to do a tag and not get too far behind. So, I started these the other day but they were not working out for me. I used the mask from my Dylusions stencil and I cut out some hair from some shelving paper to give the image more movement. The paint leaked under the mask and my backgrounds underneath... were too busy. I thought I would try and rescue them tonight. I added some quick outlines (inlines?) with my white gel pen and my black gel pen (PITT pen on one of them). It's kinda messy, but I am deliberately messy when I do that because it's really tough for me to do with my vision, especially quickly! I used my Inkadinkadoo stamp, which is what I had originally intended to do. I edged my tag and my sentiment with my black archival ink. So, I didn't meet the tic tac toe challenge, but I did use negative space. These are definately not my best, but I can live with them. They can't all be our best, right?
I really should be in bed already, so I will say Good Night, and thanks for stopping by!

Tag 2 -11 - A Walk in My Garden #onelittletag

Tags 2-11 - A Walk Through My Garden
Today I am continuing on with the challenge to use negative space.  I first  took a white tag and sponged on a distress inked background.

Then I used my Tim Holtz scribbly circle die and positioned it and cut it three times.

I used a stamp set that I got years ago in a sale bin that has various images including stems and leaves to stamp the stems and leaves, but I have no idea what brand it is.

I then took some red patterned paper ( and pink solid for the second tag) and mounted it behind the tag to fill in the holes left from the scribbly circles.

Then I adhered the circles back in their spots, using the negative space to create the flowers. My sentiment is from a Local King Stamps set. Then I mounted it to black card to finish it off.
I have been trying to do more than one tag while I have all the supplies out.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed my post.  See you tomorrow!

Bonus tag - When Life gives you Lemons #onelittletag

This is another bonus tag. I did it a couple of days ago and was going to save it for todays tag, but we have a new challenge and I wanted to move on! I wanted to show this tag because I used almost the same background as the winter scene I did for yesterdays tag, but did something totally different. The background was done with the same ink at the same time and they were very similar before I added the unexpected snowfall!

Tag 2-8 Write Your Story #onelittletag

Tag 2-8
Just a note to anyone who may be viewing my blog for the first time and doesn't know what I have been up to.  I am participating in a FB challenge called The One Little Tag Craft Challenge hosted by Jenny Barnett Rohrs of Craft Test Dummies.  The idea is to do a tag a day (or every couple of days, or whatever works) in order to create something every day and keep the creative juices flowing. This week there was an additional challenge which was to use "mothball" items. In other words, bring out those things that have been hidden away for a long time in your stash and give them some crafty love.
Once again, pretty much this entire tag is made up of mothball items. The DCWV paper pad is one I got a few years back and I just love, but have barely used, the typewriter is a Spellbinder's die that I haven't used for well over a year, another G45 sentiment that I haven't used and I dusted off some more Tim Holtz embellishments. Even the twine I dug out from my stash. I have used several things this week that haven't seen the light of day for quite a while. Good challenge!

Bonus Tag! A Girl Should Be Two Things... #onelittletag

Bonus tag!
I made this tag at the same time, another G45 sentiment and an embellishment dusted off from my stash. I used one of my Distress ink prepared backgrounds

Tag 2-7 You are Beautiful #onelittletag

Tag 2-7
I  Used one of my Gelli print backgrounds. My mothball items are my stamps and my metal butterfly embellishment. I love that stamp of the girl by B Line Designs. I used a Graphic 45 stamp for my sentiment. I have so may beautiful Graphic 45 stamps that I hardly ever use. That's going to be my personal challenge for the next couple of weeks, use some of my G45 stamps

Tag 2-8 Paint Something Beautiful #onelittletag

Tag 2-6
So, I thought I had managed to avoid that awful cold that's been going around...WRONG. Hit me like a ton of bricks. So I slept in really late and I didn't feel like getting out of my PJ's all day.  I decided to do a tag because I didn't want to fall behind and it was something I could do that didn't require too much energy or leaving the house. I finished this tag ad  then I did another...and another...It was so relaxing, I did 5 1/2 tags. So now I don't know if I should just share them all, or be ahead of the game. I'm afraid if I'm too far ahead I'll get lazy I'll lose my tag groove..
Anyways, my mothball items are all the stamps I used, a Penny Black stamp for the funny cat, Prima for the paint splotches and an Impression Obsession wood mounted stamp for my sentiment. one of my distress ink prepared backgrounds, Prima water colour pencil, distress ink and versafine ink

Tag 2-5 Trust the Magic #onelittletag

Tag 2-5 - Trust the Magic - This tag is pretty much all mothball items, the background is some paper I got a couple of years ago at a warehouse sale (7 Gypsies?), I still have my Perfect Pearls out from yesterday and the stamp set, which I quite like, is actually a freebee I got with a card-making magazine ages ago. I used a Prima stamp for the sentiment and edged the tag with gold. Once I made the tag, it actually did seem kind of magical because in some light you can barely see the perfect pearls, and then you move the tag and it's like the image magically appears.

Queen Bee #onelittletag

Tag 2-4 - This week on  the One Little Tag Craft Challenge, we have a prompt for the week, it is "mothball". What this means is that we are challenged to pull out the things that have been hidden and forgotten in the back of our shelves and cupboards, the things we haven't used for a long time, or bought and never used. Take them out, dust them off and give them life.  I have several "mothball" elements in this tag. The background is from my stash of Gelli print tags, the bee is also from my stash, something I die cut and embossed probably a year or more ago (Tim Holtz) but my real mothball items are my perfect pearls, which I haven't used in forever, and my crown embellisment (also Tim Holtz). I have so many beautiful embellishments that I have hoarded away. At some point I started thinking I should make all my own . Am I crazy??? When I have drawerfuls of pretty charms and stuff??? That's going to be one of my goals this month, (maybe this year), to use more of them.
I just want to take a minute to thank you for stopping by my blog. As I have mentioned before, I am very new to this and it's so motivating to see that people, from all over the world, have taken the time to have a peek at what I'm up to. Thanks!

Tag 2-3 - Just a Note #onelittletag

Tag 2-3 - These die cut images were also from my stash and another prepared background that was Gelli printed and stamped. I inked the edges with gold and used my Pitt pen to add some shadow. Yay!!! Caught up!

Finally some tags! #onelittletag

Yay!  I finally finished some tags that I can post on the One little tag craft challenge as well as my new blog.  New things for the new year.  I have never done a craft challenge or a blog.  Who knows what else I may try this year...sky diving?

(my first 4 tags of the year)

As I mentioned in my last post, I am using a lot pieces from my stash and backgrounds that I have already created.  I like to matt my tags on black card, so I cut up some of those today to have on hand.  I did a little stamping, some inking and added a few embellishments.  I finished them off with some seam-binding ribbon.  I used a gold Sharpie to colour some of the embellishments..

(I already had the butterfly, but found the die.  I also used a Pitt pen to go around the butterfly and to underline SOAR)

Again, I had the bird, had already doodled on it, just added some inking, but pulled out the die for you to see

I felt this background was already busy enough, so I just stamped the word "breathe" and added it.  That is the word I was thinking of when I took a step back the other night after looking at everything I had pilled out.  The other words that came to mind were "pause" and "relax".  So I guess if I were to put these tags in order, those would actually be the first three.

I used a sharpie to colour some embellishments, but you could use any alcohol based marker, I think.  If you did some copic colouring, you could colour some coordinating embellishments for your project

Have a great day!  I will be posting some more tags soon and hopefully some paintings as well.
