Happily Ever After

Hello my friends!  Just a short post today to share a card I made.  My friend Bonnie is heading west today to attend her nephews wedding.  She asked me to make a card for her.  I made it at our art club and I didn't really have a nice surface to showcase the card as the tables are all covered in (you guessed it!) paint.  I don't even mind that as a background for some projects, but it definately didn't suit this card.  So I put down a sheet of paper, which being so light, didn't highlight the card as well as I would have liked, but that is what I had available.  So, apologies over, I hope you can see the card well enough.  I was quite happy how it turned out.
I used Recollections shimmer card, a Local King Rubber Stamps background, which I heat embossed in gold.  I used my Tim Holtz scribbly die to cut the hearts (I just love that die!) out of gold card.  I heat embossed the sentiment on velum.  I llayered onto gold card and then on to a card base I made with the same shimmer stock as the front panel.  I didn't take a picture of the inside, but I added a velum pocket to hold a gift certificate or money.
Hope you enjoyed my card today, and thank you for stopping by!

Tag 6-7 "Recipe for Happiness" #onelittletag

Hello my friends!
Just to let you know before you get too far, the text in this blog post is the same as my last post with a few minor changes, because I did these tags together and the info is mostly the same. But I wanted to leave it all in case there are some new friends that haven't seen the last post.
A few different photos, of course!
The challenge for the next few tags was to "step out of your comfort zone".  Some of you may already know this, but for those who don't, I am legally blind.  I obviously do have some vision, but my impairment makes some things difficult.  I love art and do lots of art, but I have adapted my art to limitations, and avoid the things that are a little more ...difficult.  So these tags may not be a stretch for many people, but they are for me.  But that's a good thing!  I just ended up more out of my comfort zone than I expected.
I got a new MFT stamp set called "Recipe for Happiness". I actually got the dies first and had to wait quite a while for the stamps. I thought the set was really cute and was anxious to finally use it.

I stamped and die-cut a bunch of the little guys out and had some fun colouring them in.

The colouring is what's out of my comfort zone. I have to hold a magnifier and get really close to colour, I'm sure I look pretty comical! After I coloured about 10 (okay, 11) of them I realized that I wanted much bigger Chefs to make my tags. So now I am out of my comfort zone again, for the same reason, and free-hand drew these Chefs based on my new stamp images. To finish the little guys I had to step out of my comfort zone AGAIN and cut them out with scissors, which is really hard for me because I cant cut and hold my magnifier at the same time!

The old fashioned stove is from a Local King Rubber Stamps set. I used Spectrum Noir markers to do my colouring and I used distress ink for the background with a Tim Holtz stencil and some distress paint splatters.

All things considered, I am really happy with how they turned out!

Thanks for stopping by!

Tag 4-21 "Purple Rain" #onelittletag

Well, this is my last tag for now.  April 21, 2016 was a sad day.  There are no words for this tag, it is just a quiet homage to a talented artist.

Tag 4-20 "You Are a Free Spirit" #onelittletag

Hello again!  As I mentioned, I am on a roll.  Only one more after this, I promise, and that will be it for a while and I will take a break.
Still using my Local King stamps, and still not following any prompts.  The background stamp is one I've had for quite a while, and the wolf stamp and die are new.
I think he really is a free spirit!

Tag 4-19 "Always free to Fly" #onelittletag

Tag 4-19 "Always Free to Fly"
Welcome to my blog!
Been on a roll, so I have a few tags I will be sharing. I'm not really following any prompts for these, just trying to get caught up for April and using what I have out. I got some new Local King stamps which prompted me (guess I am kind of using a prompt, lol) to get out my old ones. So there actually is a few mothball stamps here. (Mothball items are the most current promt for the tag challenge)
Thanks for joining me, and I will have another tag coming up very shortly!

Tag 4-25 "Seasons Greetings" #onelittletag

Tag 4-25
Welcome to my blog! Those of you that have been following along may know that I reserve the 25th of each month for a Christmas tag.  I am still playing catch up and I felt like making a Christmas tag so here it is!
I got the cute train stamp and die from Local King Rubber Stamps at  the Creative Festival last week. I have to give credit for the design of this tag to Lisa Xang, owner of Local King.  This tag was totally inspired by a sample card that she created.

Tag 2 -11 - A Walk in My Garden #onelittletag

Tags 2-11 - A Walk Through My Garden
Today I am continuing on with the challenge to use negative space.  I first  took a white tag and sponged on a distress inked background.

Then I used my Tim Holtz scribbly circle die and positioned it and cut it three times.

I used a stamp set that I got years ago in a sale bin that has various images including stems and leaves to stamp the stems and leaves, but I have no idea what brand it is.

I then took some red patterned paper ( and pink solid for the second tag) and mounted it behind the tag to fill in the holes left from the scribbly circles.

Then I adhered the circles back in their spots, using the negative space to create the flowers. My sentiment is from a Local King Stamps set. Then I mounted it to black card to finish it off.
I have been trying to do more than one tag while I have all the supplies out.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I hope you enjoyed my post.  See you tomorrow!
