Tag 2-8 Write Your Story #onelittletag

Tag 2-8
Just a note to anyone who may be viewing my blog for the first time and doesn't know what I have been up to.  I am participating in a FB challenge called The One Little Tag Craft Challenge hosted by Jenny Barnett Rohrs of Craft Test Dummies.  The idea is to do a tag a day (or every couple of days, or whatever works) in order to create something every day and keep the creative juices flowing. This week there was an additional challenge which was to use "mothball" items. In other words, bring out those things that have been hidden away for a long time in your stash and give them some crafty love.
Once again, pretty much this entire tag is made up of mothball items. The DCWV paper pad is one I got a few years back and I just love, but have barely used, the typewriter is a Spellbinder's die that I haven't used for well over a year, another G45 sentiment that I haven't used and I dusted off some more Tim Holtz embellishments. Even the twine I dug out from my stash. I have used several things this week that haven't seen the light of day for quite a while. Good challenge!

Bonus Tag! A Girl Should Be Two Things... #onelittletag

Bonus tag!
I made this tag at the same time, another G45 sentiment and an embellishment dusted off from my stash. I used one of my Distress ink prepared backgrounds

Tag 2-7 You are Beautiful #onelittletag

Tag 2-7
I  Used one of my Gelli print backgrounds. My mothball items are my stamps and my metal butterfly embellishment. I love that stamp of the girl by B Line Designs. I used a Graphic 45 stamp for my sentiment. I have so may beautiful Graphic 45 stamps that I hardly ever use. That's going to be my personal challenge for the next couple of weeks, use some of my G45 stamps

Tag 2-6
So, I thought I had managed to avoid that awful cold that's been going around...WRONG. Hit me like a ton of bricks. So I slept in really late and I didn't feel like getting out of my PJ's all day.  I decided to do a tag because I didn't want to fall behind and it was something I could do that didn't require too much energy or leaving the house. I finished this tag ad  then I did another...and another...It was so relaxing, I did 5 1/2 tags. So now I don't know if I should just share them all, or be ahead of the game. I'm afraid if I'm too far ahead I'll get lazy I'll lose my tag groove..
Anyways, my mothball items are all the stamps I used, a Penny Black stamp for the funny cat, Prima for the paint splotches and an Impression Obsession wood mounted stamp for my sentiment. one of my distress ink prepared backgrounds, Prima water colour pencil, distress ink and versafine ink

Tag 2-5 Trust the Magic #onelittletag

Tag 2-5 - Trust the Magic - This tag is pretty much all mothball items, the background is some paper I got a couple of years ago at a warehouse sale (7 Gypsies?), I still have my Perfect Pearls out from yesterday and the stamp set, which I quite like, is actually a freebee I got with a card-making magazine ages ago. I used a Prima stamp for the sentiment and edged the tag with gold. Once I made the tag, it actually did seem kind of magical because in some light you can barely see the perfect pearls, and then you move the tag and it's like the image magically appears.

Queen Bee #onelittletag

Tag 2-4 - This week on  the One Little Tag Craft Challenge, we have a prompt for the week, it is "mothball". What this means is that we are challenged to pull out the things that have been hidden and forgotten in the back of our shelves and cupboards, the things we haven't used for a long time, or bought and never used. Take them out, dust them off and give them life.  I have several "mothball" elements in this tag. The background is from my stash of Gelli print tags, the bee is also from my stash, something I die cut and embossed probably a year or more ago (Tim Holtz) but my real mothball items are my perfect pearls, which I haven't used in forever, and my crown embellisment (also Tim Holtz). I have so many beautiful embellishments that I have hoarded away. At some point I started thinking I should make all my own . Am I crazy??? When I have drawerfuls of pretty charms and stuff??? That's going to be one of my goals this month, (maybe this year), to use more of them.
I just want to take a minute to thank you for stopping by my blog. As I have mentioned before, I am very new to this and it's so motivating to see that people, from all over the world, have taken the time to have a peek at what I'm up to. Thanks!

Tag 2-3 - Just a Note #onelittletag

Tag 2-3 - These die cut images were also from my stash and another prepared background that was Gelli printed and stamped. I inked the edges with gold and used my Pitt pen to add some shadow. Yay!!! Caught up!

Tag 2-2 - Hello #onelittletag

Tag 2-2 - I pulled out these die cut images from my stash and I used one of my Colorburst backgrounds which I splattered with Picket Fence Distress paint. I inked around the edges with Hero Arts white ink

Tag 2-1 - Explore

Tag 2-1 - This tag was a foiling experiment. I used one of my colorburst backgrounds. I splattered with some gold and white distress paint. I stamped my quote (Tim Holtz) with Versamark ink and embossed with Ranger sticky embossing powder. I foiled it and ran it through my laminator. It didn't work perfectly, but I think I will try it again.

Tag 31 - Art Washes Away... #onelittletag

Tag 31 - I used one of my prepared backgrounds that I had inked with distress inks, stencils and marked with distress paints. This is a Deep Red stamp I've had for ages and never used
