New Christmas Card - Lawn Fawn Sprinkled with Joy

Hello my friends!  Today i have a new card creation for you.  I really enjoyed building my little scene with the Stampendous Truck and the Tim Holtz die, so I thought I would do another one.  This card was created using the Lawn Fawn "Sprinkled with Joy" stamp and die set, which I just think is sooo fin!  There is and Add-on die available for this set, that turns the oven into an interactive feature.  I got this die and have used it here.  You certainly don't have to get this additional die, but it is fun!  I also used a Sizzix stamp and die set along with the Lawn Fawn set.

I stamped and cut all my pieces using my DIY stamp positioner, which comes in really handy with stamp and die sets. especially if you want to make multiples.  I did, since I had everything out and just put them in (uncoloured) with the set so that the next time I want to make a card, they will be ready to go.

I cut the cookies and cookie cough out of kraft card, and the cookie tray and oven handle out of silver foil board.  I cut the tea towel out of some patterned paper and trimmed a little mat out of some patterned paper as well.  I trimmed out some velum to use for the oven window.
I decided to make this a larger card, so my finished size will be 8.5 x 5.5.  This way I could get a lot of elements in.  Now to build my little scene! I took advantage of the 70% off deal at Michaels and got a patterned paper pad among other things, lol, maybe a little haul post is in order!) and decided to use some of it for the floor and the wallpaper..

I trimmed some planks out of the wood grain paper and edged them with vintage photo distress ink before adhering them.  I used my Spectrum Noir markers to colour in the stove and all of the other elements. I used patternedcard from another card pack I got at Michaels for the counter.  I trimmed it out and shaded it with the markers.  Once I coloured all my elements. I assembled my card.  I created the cupboards by trimming  them out from some scraps.  I edged them and drew in some handles.

I used a sentiment from a stamp and die set that I have had for ages and never used.  It seemed perfect for this card/

Once my card was all assembled. I mounted it to some embossed card that I had on hand.

Thi card didn't turn out anything like I first envisioned it.  At first the cupboards were going to be white and the stove was going to look like stainless steel.  But once  I started doing the floor and adding the wallpaper, I started to get a retro feel.  I wanted to do the stove like the old "avocado green" stoves from my childhood.  Remember those?

This card took me a while to make, nut itis a fun and interactive.  I hope you enjoyed it!
Thank you so much for stopping by!    Wishing you an awesome and artful day!

A Craft HAUL from SGD and a few more surprises from the dollar store!

Hello my friends!  I received a package in the mail today!  Don't you just love getting packages in the mail? A little early Christmas present to my self that I thought I would share with you!  This box of goodies came from Scrappin' Great Deals, and I have to admit, it was wrapped up much nicer than it looks here when I received it.  I had already dove into it before I thought to make a haul post.  But just barely.  (Notice the yummy Werthers!)

Look at these new Christmas dies that I am eager to put to good use!  I also got some of the new Ranger Enamel Accents!

I got a die for a stamp set that I already had, MFT "Make yourself at Home".  This will be a fun scene-making set.  I also got a new Lawn Fawn stamp "Sprinkled with Joy", which will also be a fun scene-builder.  The matching die is on back order and I can't wait to receive it!
This is the stamp set "Make yourself at Home" that I had previously bought.

A couple of fun stencils, some sunshine and some falling snow.

Then, later today I was at Dollarama and found a few goodies.  I found this stamp set from Inkadinkado for just #3.  Just to give you a perspective, the bottom stamp is 6" x 6".  The top layer of stamps is actually a set of 6 stamps, so I thought that was a pretty good find. I like the images  a lot.

some more K & Company embellishments
Some close-ups.  A nice vintage feel to these.

 And finally, some Prismacolor erasers.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my little haul and you can look forward to seeing some of these items in use soon.  I already have some ideas brewing...
Thanks so much for stopping by, have an amazing day!

Santa Christmas Card using #onelittletag colour challenge

Hello my friends!  As some of you may now from my recent posts, I am in the Christmas card mode!  Those of you that have been following along for a while, may also know that I have been participating in a FB group called The One Little Tag Craft Challenge  .  I started off the year very diligently, but as the year has progressed and life has gotten busy, I have not been posting as often, but I have not abandoned my very first challenge, and really my inspiration to even start my blog (along with wanting to share my art with my sister).  So, while these next few posts are not tags, they are still inspired by Jenny Barnett Rohs and her FB group.  Her most recent challenge was a colour challenge based on the photo below.  She used a colour mixer app to draw a colour scheme from the photo of the pot of fall mums.  I have based some Christmas cards on this colour scheme.  I love the fact that these cards don't follow the "traditional" Christmas colour s!

I first blended some distress ink on my background.  Then I splattered some water, with a little perfect pearls mixed in, over the inked card.  One of the fun things about distress ink is how it reacts with water.  I die cut my elements out of black card and a light tan card, to mimic the colour challenge.  I glued the die cut images together, offset just a touch, to give a highlighted look.  I assembled all my pieces and layered my card with the same light coloured tan card , a black layer and then onto a cream coloured purchased card.
I used wilted violet, picked raspberry and abandonded coral

I used a Lawn Fawn and a Cherry Lynn Designs die for this card.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you have enjoyed my latest Christmas card!  If you did, please check out my next few posts with the other Christmas cards in this set created using the colour challenge from The One Little Tag Craft Challenge
